Oral Sex Yeast Infection Cure

I was asked this question recently through my mailing list, and felt compelled to answer it:

"If I have oral sex with my girlfriend who has a vaginal yeast infection, does this mean that I am surely to get it? From what I understand candida is contagious, but to what degree? And is the common vaginal yeast infection the same as candida? I became sick after oral sex with her within about 6 hours (she had a very bad odor) and now I'm not sure if I have candida? Also, is it possible for the same kind of yeast (as in the vaginal yeast type) to thrive in the mouth, throat and stomach from oral sex? I'm sure it can as this is probably just as good an environment as the vagina for yeast to thrive. I guess what I'm really trying to find out is whether candida and vaginal yeast infection are actually same thing? Or, is possible that the odor was not yeast at all, but rather some other type of bacterial infection? Anyone else experienced something like this?"

Unless this gentleman has a lowered immune system, then it is likely that his normal immune system will protect him from getting a yeast infection. There have been plenty of strange occurrences in the past, but – if anything – you may come down with thrush. Thrush tends to be found in infants more than adults, and has symptoms of reddish or white rash on the insides of the cheeks, that can sometimes bleed if rubbed too hard. In adults, thrush tends to not show signs of the rash, but it can lead to bad breath and possible throat infection.

Having a bad odor has many possibilities. Yes, there could be another bacterial infection, such as vaginosis, which will carry what many people consider a “fishy” smell. however, every woman – just like every man – has his and her own smell. Sweating can bring out bad underarm odor just as often as sweating can bring out an odor between both a man and a woman’s legs. If it truly is bothersome, then be nice, and bring a washcloth to bed. Clean yourself, and clean her, so she does not feel nasty. It is supremely difficult to tell a woman she smells, and there is no good way to go about it. If she asks, then perhaps you may have to tell her, but be forewarned that she may be extremely uncomfortable during the next few times of oral sex.

There have been documented cases of candida getting into other parts of the body, like internal organs and the bloodstream. The biggest problem can actually cause this fungus to go unchecked, resulting in the fungus breaking down and excreting certain toxins into the body. The liver breaks down these toxins and turns them into alcohols, which can actually give the body a feeling of drunkenness. Unless you remove a high percentage of the fungus, the yeast infection will continue to come back. Keeping your body healthy on the inside is just as important as sanitation on the outside.

Yeast infections can be treated, but need to be done proficiently. If the medicine just masks the symptoms only, then the infection will grow stronger, and become more problematic than originally thought.
