Yeast Infection Diet

For those who suffer from chronic, painful yeast infections, someone has decided that diet has a lot to do with it. After carefully checking out a ton of different diets, there seems to be a bit of everything that you can and cannot eat. Many of the foods that have been removed from the average diet, tend to be foods that can fuel yeast, such as sugars and more yeast consumption, as well as many foods that can keep yeast from flushing from flushing itself out of your body.

So, once I give you the NO foods, I will also add the foods that CAN be consumed. First, NO fruit or fruit juices, since they contain sugars. Fresh vegetables, fresh vegetable juice, and lemonade or limeade can be consumed. NO breads or breaded meat – all other meats are okay.
NO egg substitutes – just organic eggs, since substitutes can hold sugar (for frothiness). NO margarine or butter substitutes – for the same reason as egg substitutes. Fresh butter, yogurt, cream cheese, and unsweetened whipping creams are okay.
NO potatoes, legumes, or grains – since they all contain high natural sugars as well as natural yeasts.

NO coffee, tea, diet or regular sodas. Coffee beans and tea leaves both have natural yeast enhancers, whereas diet and regular sodas have sugar or sugar substitute. Organic tea is okay to drink. NO partially hydrogenated oils, since they can grasp the yeast – holding it hostage in the body. Cold=pressed oils such as olive, coconut, and flax seed can be consumed, since they do not do that.

NO peanuts, peanut butter, or pistachios – they contain natural sugars and are yeast enhancers. Raw nuts, such as raw almonds, pecans, and walnuts do not, and can be consumed. NO vinegars except for apple cider vinegar – which contains malic acid, a known yeast fighter. This is a HUGE category of NO’s, which include ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, worchestshire sauce, barbeque sauce, hot sauce, pickles, mayonnaise, salad dressings, dips, etcetera. Last, avoid high mercury fish such as salmon, tuna, and some shellfish.

This may seem like a ton of NO items, but there are still plenty of foods to try. The entire basis of this is to try to get rid of unnatural foods, and keep the body’s natural pH levels balanced through a truly balanced diet. Fresh vegetables are always a good thing – and many vegetables, such as carrots and beets, can make some wonderful juices. There are still a ton of meats available for consumption as well.

Not all dairy products are off-limits, so many breakfast lunch and dinner solutions are available on this plan. In fact, there have been enough women who have lived with chronic yeast infections that many cookbooks have been written to follow natural, organic foods. If you have grown tired of the constant need to combat the symptoms of a yeast infection, it may have all to do with what you are ingesting – rather than what you are not.

What you want to eat are a ton of foods that contain acidophilus like cottage cheese and yogurt.

Oral Sex Yeast Infection Cure

I was asked this question recently through my mailing list, and felt compelled to answer it:

"If I have oral sex with my girlfriend who has a vaginal yeast infection, does this mean that I am surely to get it? From what I understand candida is contagious, but to what degree? And is the common vaginal yeast infection the same as candida? I became sick after oral sex with her within about 6 hours (she had a very bad odor) and now I'm not sure if I have candida? Also, is it possible for the same kind of yeast (as in the vaginal yeast type) to thrive in the mouth, throat and stomach from oral sex? I'm sure it can as this is probably just as good an environment as the vagina for yeast to thrive. I guess what I'm really trying to find out is whether candida and vaginal yeast infection are actually same thing? Or, is possible that the odor was not yeast at all, but rather some other type of bacterial infection? Anyone else experienced something like this?"

Unless this gentleman has a lowered immune system, then it is likely that his normal immune system will protect him from getting a yeast infection. There have been plenty of strange occurrences in the past, but – if anything – you may come down with thrush. Thrush tends to be found in infants more than adults, and has symptoms of reddish or white rash on the insides of the cheeks, that can sometimes bleed if rubbed too hard. In adults, thrush tends to not show signs of the rash, but it can lead to bad breath and possible throat infection.

Having a bad odor has many possibilities. Yes, there could be another bacterial infection, such as vaginosis, which will carry what many people consider a “fishy” smell. however, every woman – just like every man – has his and her own smell. Sweating can bring out bad underarm odor just as often as sweating can bring out an odor between both a man and a woman’s legs. If it truly is bothersome, then be nice, and bring a washcloth to bed. Clean yourself, and clean her, so she does not feel nasty. It is supremely difficult to tell a woman she smells, and there is no good way to go about it. If she asks, then perhaps you may have to tell her, but be forewarned that she may be extremely uncomfortable during the next few times of oral sex.

There have been documented cases of candida getting into other parts of the body, like internal organs and the bloodstream. The biggest problem can actually cause this fungus to go unchecked, resulting in the fungus breaking down and excreting certain toxins into the body. The liver breaks down these toxins and turns them into alcohols, which can actually give the body a feeling of drunkenness. Unless you remove a high percentage of the fungus, the yeast infection will continue to come back. Keeping your body healthy on the inside is just as important as sanitation on the outside.

Yeast infections can be treated, but need to be done proficiently. If the medicine just masks the symptoms only, then the infection will grow stronger, and become more problematic than originally thought. A woman’s vaginal area is also protected. A woman’s normal body secretions from her vagina are set to an acidic level ranging between 3.5 and 4.2, in order to thwart infection. However, many internal factors can cause that pH level to rise. When that happens, some bacteria and fungi may be able to infect the body.

There is always a certain amount of yeast in a woman’s secretions, but the pH level balances that bacteria. It is, in fact, a good form of bacteria, because it can “eat” other more problematic forms of bacteria. Many antibiotics are meant to rid the body of bacteria, and can indiscriminately attack the good bacteria that the body makes. This will allow the bad bacteria to multiply, whereas an infection becomes apparent.
Certain causes of such a pH level rising can be as simple as stress, illness, lack of sleep, a poor diet that consists more of artificial products instead of natural fruits and vegetables, or certain antibiotics.

If a woman has more than four yeast infections in one year, many doctors will test for more complex problems -- such as HIV or diabetes. Both HIV and diabetes tend to suppress the immune system – thereby lowering the body’s natural pH level – leaving a body more at risk for infection.
Some women may not understand one simple rule when it comes to bathroom cleanliness. This being – wiping properly. If one has never heard that there is a proper way to wipe, then this may be the cause of all of the yeast infections! Bacteria growth near the anus can be transmitted to the vaginal area if a woman wipes from back to front. Depending upon the woman, if you fix the cause, then the infection will clear.
